Coming by car:
As you arrive on Penleys Grove street, you will see the apartment building on your right.
Take the next right onto George Court and the first right again into the car park.
If you are arriving by car, please park in:
Space 1, is the last space in the row, next to the wall.
If you have more than one car:
There is also a visitor’s spot (the first bay in the row), but this is a first-come, first-serve basis, so it can’t be guaranteed.

Building Entrance
Check-in After 3pm
Step 1:
Go around the back of the building for access to the apartment.
There is a key box on the wall next to the back door (the one on the right), in the car park.
Step 2:
Pull down the black cover
Step 3:
Enter the code AB1234 into the lock by pressing the buttons next to the numbers. Then twist the ‘open’ knob to open the box and collect keys. There is one key for the front door and one key for the back door of the building.
Step 4: The key is to open the external doors that open out from the car park
Accomodation Access
Penlys Apartment is on the
Ground Floor
and is Apartment No. 1
Step 1: Walk down the corridor, past the staircase, and it’s the ground-floor apartment on the right-hand side.
Apartment 1
Step 2:
You will see a Yale automated lock (it looks like a phone screen)
Place your hand on the ‘screen’ for 2 seconds – it’s touch-activated.
And a keypad will appear.
Press in your code followed by * and turn the lock to enter.
Step 3:
The apartment door will lock automatically behind you.
When you depart please shut the door behind you and return the keys to the key safe box.

Wifi
Getting into the City Centre
Take a left onto Penleys Grove Street, then right onto the main road. Ahead you will see Monk Bar gate.
(Monk Bar is the largest and most ornate of the bars, it dates from the early 14th century and 1 of 4 of the gates or bars in the medieval city walls)
Through this ‘gate’ you will find yourself in the heart of York.
Local shop/convenience store
There is a large Sainsbury’s just a short walk away.
Take a left and then a right onto the main road. Use the crossing to cross over onto the other side of the road and take a left down Agar street.
Follow the footpath around into the supermarket car park.
Dining
The vibrant city of York offers a vast range of fantastic places to eat. With so many options for breakfast, brunch, lunch or evening dining on our doorstep, we feel that the choice should be yours. But we are happy to help you with recommendations to suit your taste.

Heating
The heating has been programmed to ensure you have a comfortable stay.
However, if you would like the heating on/off at a time when it is not programmed,
use the up arrow on the right and the down arrow on the left to change the temperature to what you require.
There is a slight delay while the thermostat communicates with the boiler.
This will stay set until the next programs change, where it will then return to the schedule.
If you would like to cancel what you have asked the program to change, then simply click the ok button (bottom left)
Oven
The oven’s operations are controlled by the function selector knob on the right of the control panel and the temperature sector knob on the left side.
Please see more details of functions in the manual at the end of the pack.
Hob
Press the main ‘on/off’ button once to active the hob. Touch one of the cooking zone selection controls to turn on the desired cooking zone. After selecting the cooking zone of the hob, 0. Will flash on the relevant cooking zone display.
Touch the + and – keys to set the temperature.
To turn off the hob, press the on/off button for 2 seconds, and the hob will turn off and return to stand by mode.
Washing Machine
Determine the programme suitable for the type of laundry and select the function with the programme section knob.
Please see the manual at the end of the pack for more information on washing and drying programs.
Tea and coffee
Please help yourself to tea and coffee during your stay.
Iron and Ironing Board
These are located in the wardrobe.
Hairdryer
You will find a Veloce Pro styling hairdryer in the bedside table drawer to use during your stay.
Sofa Bed
To give you the flexibility of being able to use the sofa at your preferred time, we leave all the bedding and linen for the sofa in a pack to use at your convenience, allowing you to make the most of the apartment during the day.
For bookings of 3/4 guests the bedding and linen is included in your stay, just remove the tags from the bags, when you have finished please leave it out and the cleaning team will arrange for it to be cleaned after your stay.
If you would like to use the sofa bed during your stay but have only booked for 1/2 guests please get in touch and we can arrange an extra charge to be added to your booking if you wish to use it.
If tags are removed, a fee will be charged.
Bedding and linen packs can be found under the sofa, just lift up the long end.
TV
The apartment is equipped with a 32” Smart TV in the bedroom and a 50” Smart TV in the living room. You can log in to your own Netflix and Prime account and access anything on demand.

Maintenance
There is a vacuum cleaner in the hallway cupboard and cleaning products under the sink if you require them.
Accidents happen, so if there is a spillage on the carpet, please see the brochure in the back of this pack for more information.

In case of a fire
Please familiarise yourself with the building, the exit and safety information by the front door when you arrive.
If you hear the fire alarm, please leave the apartment and make your way safely to your nearest exit and outside the car park.

Close all the doors to the affected apartment/area
Sound the fire alarm (if not already activated) by pressing a call point.

Checking out
We hope you have had a wonderful stay and want it to be as easy as possible for you to check out.
Check out is 11am
- Would you please ensure all windows are shut.
- The lights are turned off.
- We don’t ask you to strip the beds, but if you wouldn’t mind putting your used towels in the shower
- Would you please put all your rubbish in the bin provided
- Wash up all dishes
- Lock the apartment door and the main back door (by pulling the handle up and then using the key to lock) and return the keys to the key safe box
- Make sure you have all your belongings and have a safe journey home!
Please note a £100 security deposit will be charged if any damage is found.
